Data plate
A paper compliance certificate inside the home, usually in a kitchen cabinet, closet or electrical panel area. It lists the manufacturer, model, serial number, build date and the wind, roof-load and thermal ratings.

The data plate (also called the compliance certificate) is a sheet of paper, about the size of a standard letter page, fixed inside every home built to the HUD Code. It is the home's birth certificate: it records who built it, when, and what conditions it was engineered to handle.
You will usually find it in a kitchen cabinet, a bedroom closet, or near the electrical panel. It lists the manufacturer, model, serial number, date of manufacture, and the home's wind zone, roof load zone and thermal zone ratings. It also lists the HUD label numbers for each section of the home.
Insurance carriers rely on this document. The year built, manufacturer and wind zone printed on it feed directly into eligibility and pricing, so having a photo of it on hand makes getting an accurate quote much faster. If yours is missing or unreadable, the HUD label numbers on the outside of the home can be used to trace the same information.
